How My Crystal Shop Journey Began

Every shop has a beginning, and every beginning starts with a story.

When I first started selling crystals, I struggled with one simple thing: the name. A name is everything. It sets the tone for what people expect and how they remember you.

My boyfriend and I met in April of 2019, and not long after he was excited to introduce me to his family. When he did, he described me in a way that was both funny and surprisingly accurate.

"Meet my trippy hippie witchy chick girlfriend."

As I thought about what to call my new venture, that description stuck with me. It captured something playful, mystical, and true to my personality.

At the time, my passion for crystals and spiritual items had returned in full force. I became fascinated with their beauty, symbolism, and the energy people believe they carry. My personal collection started growing quickly — maybe a little too quickly.

To justify my growing crystal obsession, I decided to turn it into something more intentional.

If I loved these pieces so much, maybe others would too.

So I began selling crystals.

Selling Crystals From My Backyard

I already had experience with sales, but running a small business from scratch was a completely different world.

At first I focused on Facebook Marketplace and Etsy, slowly posting items and learning as I went.

Then a friend suggested something that would change everything.

"You should try doing live sales."

So I started small.

I set up tables on my backyard patio beneath the oak trees next to our rock pool. It was actually a beautiful place to work — peaceful, shaded, and surrounded by nature.

From there I began going live on Facebook and Instagram, showing each crystal piece one by one.

I didn't know what would happen.

But I held onto one belief the entire time:

Never give up. Just keep going.

Building a Small Crystal Community

At first the audience was small.

Friends came to support me, and slowly strangers started joining as well. People who shared the same appreciation for crystals and spiritual items began returning to the live sales.

My mom started sitting in with me during the streams. The excitement rubbed off on her quickly, and before long we were both trying to figure out how to keep up with orders, packaging, and shipping.

We made mistakes.

We learned lessons.

And over time our systems improved.

Expanding Beyond Crystals

As the little shop began to grow, so did the products we offered.

What started with crystals soon expanded into:

• Sterling silver jewelry with crystal stones

• Crystal statues and carvings

• Prepared candles

• Oils and spiritual colognes

• Mugs and mystical home décor

Little by little, the shop began turning into a full metaphysical and spiritual goods store.

The TikTok Turning Point

Then something unexpected happened.

After reaching my first 1,000 followers, I decided to try doing live sales on TikTok.

That decision changed everything.

Our community began growing much faster than we ever imagined. New people discovered the shop, connected with the energy of the live sales, and became part of the network we were building.

What had started as a small backyard crystal setup was suddenly reaching people far beyond our local community.

The Journey Continues

Today the shop operates from inside my home.

I eventually left my job in insurance so I could dedicate myself to the business full time. My retired mother helps with shipping and even creates beautiful jewelry pieces that we sell as part of the shop.

What began as a simple way to justify my growing crystal collection turned into something much bigger.

It became a community, a creative outlet, and a path forward.
